New Life Glenside is a reformed presbyterian (PCA) church just outside the city of Philadelphia, located at the corner of Easton and Jenkintown Roads. Started in 1973 in the founder’s living room, it has grown over the years, having also given birth to numerous sister and daughter churches in the area over the years.
New Life’s previous website was designed in 2009 by a company that no longer specializes in web design. It ran on an older version of Expression Engine, and was beginning to feel a bit dated.
The church had also launched a WordPress-based blog in late 2013, which had a clean but basic design, and needed to be incorporated into the main site.
EPIXIAN began work on a brand new site in April 2018, going through several iterations and design changes before being officially launched in November of that year, resulting in a responsive design. During the design process, we recreated the existing logo in vector format in a new standardized color scheme, and we also published a new set of branding/style guidelines.
The migration also included almost 900 audio recordings (and growing), proof of New Life’s prolific media ministry over the years, with some archives dating back to the 1980s. Many of the files had missing or incomplete metadata, or records that were in need of standardization. EPIXIAN incorporated the Series Engine platform, an easy to use WordPress plugin designed around the needs of church media ministries.
